Think of Us (TOU) operates as an R+D lab for child welfare. We take on strategic - and opportunistic - projects with the goal of causing “good trouble” and ultimately, driving concrete, structural changes in policy, practice, resource flows, power dynamics, relationships and mental models.
Our ultimate goal is to build proximity so that those with Lived Experience in child welfare (former foster youth and those surrounding them) are fully integrated into every level and every decision of the system, ensuring everyone touched by child welfare has the conditions they need to Heal, Develop and Thrive.
We work across the ecosystem of current and former foster youth, child welfare workers, philanthropists and policymakers to Spark, Support and Drive to change the power dynamics to systematically center those with lived experience in child welfare.
Think of Us is looking for a DC-based C-Level Executive Assistant to support Sixto Cancel, our CEO. This person should love being a part of the “building stage” of organizations and get excited by navigating chaos, identifying when to create structure, and when to stay scrappy and roll with the punches.
This person will partner closely with the CEOand be fully trusted to manage his calendar, email and contacts, as well as coordinating aspects of both his professional and personal life.
We’re looking for someone that is committed to figuring out the many moving pieces the CEO navigates every day so they can be a strategic supporter of and contributor to his work. Learning these ropes will require them to be a curious, proactive learner, and they should be comfortable picking things up as they go along and independently navigating ambiguity. They should also know how to advocate for themselves when they need support to get things done – we’re a team and care about setting each other up for success!
A strong candidate should also have an obsession with knocking through their to-do list and a knack for prioritizing last-minute asks, even if they derail original plans. No two days are the same, but this person should show up every day prepared to unblock Sixto and think critically about how to make him the most effective leader he can be!
