Full-Stack Developer + “Hacker”

Tech plays a key role in all of our work as we think about how to leverage technology to make the experience of foster youth better.

Note: We are a fully remote team and will continue to be after COVID restrictions are lifted.

The role

We are seeking a C#/Azure Developer to become an integral part of Think of Us’ work, supporting both our Operations and Programs + Products teams. They will serve as a Full-Stack Developer + “Hacker” to make our internal team more effective, build new products, + manage our external developer team’s sprint calendar + workflows. They’ll partner with our Head of Product and Technical Project Manager – among others – to tackle challenges and make our organization more impactful.

We’re agile and embrace a DevOps mindset, so a willingness to embrace the changes that come with rapid deployments and urgent troubleshooting is crucial. This person should love being a part of the “building stage” of organizations and get excited by the idea of creating structure out of chaos!


  • Developing front end website architecture.
  • Developing back end website applications.
  • Managing the external development team.
  • Working with our Technical Project Manager to solve internal technical challenges.
  • Creating servers and databases for functionality.
  • Ensuring cross-platform optimization across devices
  • Ensuring responsiveness of applications.
  • Working alongside graphic designers for web design features.
  • Seeing through a project from conception to finished product.
  • Designing and developing APIs.
  • Meeting both technical and consumer needs.
  • Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages.


  • Knowledge of C#, Entity Framework, and Azure
  • Experience translating product roadmaps into tactical sprint plans
  • Experience as a people manager
  • Knowledge of MS SQL
  • Knowledge of SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Understanding of how to build and manage automated builds
  • Ability to work independently and with teams, self-motivated and directed
  • A strong desire to own the long-term health of an application
  • Experience with Azure DevOps & Continuous Delivery
  • [Preferred] Experience in microservice and serverless computing architectures
  • [Preferred] Experience with knockout/angular
  • [Preferred] Experience with Twilio, SendGrid, and other 3rd Party APIs
  • Deep commitment to our mission and nuanced understanding of systemic, structural racism and inequity
  • Lived experience and/or proximity to Child Welfare, whether as former foster youth, kinship family or other is a plus

Perks / Timings / Salary

We are looking to fill this position immediately. The salary range for this role is $100k to $120k based on role fit and experience.
