Think of Us believes all humans should have everything they need to Heal, Develop, and Thrive. We are a systems change firm focused on transforming child welfare by leveraging lived experience and system proximity to drive impact. In the midst of a divisive political climate, a global pandemic, increasing technological integration in our world, and racial reckoning, we believe our time for impact is now.

Think of Us’ work spans three main workstreams:

  1. Our Flagship Initiative: Digital Wraparound;
  2. Advocacy: Centering Lived Experiences; and
  3. Advocacy: Centering Lived Experiences.

Tech plays a key role in all of our work as we think about how to leverage technology to make the experience of foster youth better.

Note: We are a fully remote team and will continue to be after COVID restrictions are lifted.

The role

This is the first ever role of its kind at Think of Us. We expect the position to evolve in partnership based on your ideas, new opportunities and community feedback. Here is an outline of the initial expected (and representative versus holistic) responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Actively build relationships with Youth Boards, like minded organizations, networks and current + former foster youth nationally
  • Stay connected on how best Think of Us can serve their needs AND share resources as widely as possible to support their work
  • Own our new (and growing) Hack Foster Care app to ensure that internal + external projects can directly and continuously engage with advisors - a direct conduit in respectful + holistic ways
  • Provide key thought partnership + insights into projects across Think of Us including those identified above

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience; work in community organizing, digital platforms or social media is required
  • Significant experience in building friendly + professional relationships with youth
  • Experience independently translating ideas into action plans and owning initiatives end-to-end
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written + verbal
  • Experience leveraging a CRM (like Hubspot) or a similar tool to keep track of our growing community
  • Fluency in GSuite + other tech tools like Asana, Twitter, Facebook + Slack
  • Flexible and hands-on working style
  • Deep commitment to our mission and nuanced understanding of systemic, structural racism and inequity
  • Lived experience and/or proximity to Child Welfare, whether as former foster youth, kinship family or other is required

Salary range of $60,000-$70,000 dependent on experience
